Adolf Lüchinger (judge)

Adolf Lüchinger (born March 16, 1928 in Zurich ; entitled to live there and in Oberriet ) was a Swiss lawyer and judge at the Federal Supreme Court .

Life

The son of Zurich's mayor Adolf Lüchinger completed a law degree in Zurich and Geneva , which he received in 1954 with the title Dr. iur. did his doctorate in Zurich . He then worked as an auditor and substitute for the clerk at the Uster District Court . He was admitted to the Zurich bar in 1957 and opened his own law firm in Zurich in 1960. From 1960 to 1963 Lüchinger was a substitute judge and from 1963 a part-time member of the administrative court of the Canton of Zurich . On December 11, 1968, he was elected federal judge ; from 1983 to 1988 he presided over the 2nd civil department.

Until 1969, Lüchinger was a board member of the Zurich Bar Association and a member of the board of directors of the Zürcher Schauspielhaus and the Pro Juventute Foundation Commission . He also worked on the Basel Commentary on Swiss Private Law.

Lüchinger is married, a member of the SP Switzerland , had the rank of private in the Swiss Army and received an honorary doctorate from the University of Zurich in 1993 .
