Adolf Mayerl
Adolf Mayerl (born August 28, 1884 in Eger , † September 23, 1954 in Schrobenhausen in Upper Bavaria ) was a German sculptor and ceramic artist in Eger and Franzensbad in western Bohemia.
Life
Born as the son of master potter Karl Mayerl in Eger, Adolf Mayerl received an apprenticeship in his father's pottery in Eger, graduated from the ceramics school in Teplitz in western Bohemia from 1899 to 1900 , and studied the making of sculptures at the art academy in Prague under Josef Myslbeck . From 1905 he worked as a freelance artist in Eger and after 1924 in Franzensbad in western Bohemia. He was expelled from Czechoslovakia after 1945 on the basis of the Benesch decrees .

- Portrait sculptures of the abbots of the Teplá Monastery in western Bohemia.
- Monuments to Emperor Franz Josef II of Habsburg in Metzling near Bischofteinitz in West Bohemia and Gablonz in North Bohemia.
- Wilhelm Müller Memorial in Franzensbad
- War memorials of the 1st World War in Maria Kulm, Franzensbad and at Oberthorpark in Eger in western Bohemia.
- Sculptures at the Palace of the Riunione Adriatica Insurance Company in Prague .
- Marble frieze on the Esplanade Hotel in Prague.
- Roland's group for the body of the "Noriscia" in Würzburg .
- Marble figure “The Blacksmith”, formerly in the Prague Modern Gallery. The figure has Rudolf Haas excited in the novel "home in chains" (1924) to the figure of the sculptor Halmschlag.
- Fountain figures (including the bagpiper) at the guild fountain in Eger. Small sculptures, as well as stone reliefs, stove tiles and ceramic reliefs with themes from Egerland customs.
