Adolf Stockleben (born October 28, 1933 in Handorf (Peine) ; † November 1, 2014 ) was a German SPD politician . From 1976 to 1987 he was a member of the German Bundestag .

Life

After attending primary school, Stockleben began an apprenticeship as a farm mechanic, which he completed in 1951 with the journeyman's examination. In 1948 he joined IG Metall , for which he worked as a youth representative until 1952. At the same time, he attended further training courses of the DGB, the adult education center, IG Metall and the home folk school. From 1953 he worked as a crane fitter at Norddeutsche Maschinen- und Schraubenwerke AG in Peine . In 1959 he first became a member of the works council and in 1972 he became chairman of the works council and employee representative on the supervisory board of what is now Peiner Maschinen- und Schraubenwerke AG and Industrie-AG Peine-Salzgitter.

From 1962 Stockleben was a member of the representative assembly of the Hanover State Insurance Institute . In 1962 he was appointed social judge and in 1969 he was appointed state social judge. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of Kreissparkasse Peine from 1969 .

Stockleben joined the SPD in 1955. He was chairman of the Young Socialists in Peine, chairman of the SPD local association Klein Ilsede and a member of the SPD sub-district executive committee in Peine. Within the party, he was involved in the working group for employee issues . In 1963 he became a member of the district council in the district of Peine . From 1976 to 1987 he was a member of the German Bundestag . He was elected to the Lower Saxony SPD state list in 1976 and 1983 . In 1980 he was able to win the direct mandate in constituency 40 (Gifhorn) . In the Bundestag he was a member of the Committee for Research and Technology from 1976 to May 1982 and again from 1983 to 1987, from September 1977 to 1980 a member of the Committee for German Internal Relations and from May 1982 to 1983 a member of the Committee for Labor and Social Affairs .
