Adolf Freiherr von Wangenheim (born January 20, 1797 in Hasperde , † October 25, 1858 in Hanover ) was a German judge and fiscal lawyer. He was president of the royal Hanoverian tax and treasury college.

Adolf von Wangenheim was the son of the British and Hanoverian captain Ludwig Adam Ernst Walrab Freiherr von Wangenheim (born March 16, 1760 in Sonneborn; † September 28, 1820 in Wiebrechtshausen ; administrator of the Wiebrechtshausen monastery near Northeim) and his wife Juliane, née. von Post (1771-1828).

Life

From 1814 he studied law at the University of Göttingen , where he became a member of the Corps Hannovera . In 1817 he began his professional activity as an auditor in the Justice Office of the Kingdom of Hanover in Hanover. He became assessor in 1820, first extraordinary in 1822, then full judicial councilor in 1823, and in 1830 a member of the Calenberg-Göttingen-Grubenhagen credit commission. Adolf von Wangenheim was both 1833–35 and 1838 a member of the first chamber of the Kingdom of Hanover . In 1840 he became a senior appeals judge at the Higher Appeal Court in Celle and in 1843 President of the Kingdom's Higher Tax and Treasury College, i.e. finance and treasury minister, and a member of the Hanover State Council . In 1848 he was a member of the Committee of Seventeen .

According to the inscription on his tomb in Sonneborn , he was in command of the Guelph Order .

family

He married Amalie Frederike Luise von Hake on March 23, 1827 (* December 8, 1806, † July 14, 1884). The couple had several children:
