Adrian Braunbehrens

Adrian von Braunbehrens (born June 1, 1934 in Freiburg im Breisgau or Hamburg ) is a German philologist who made a name for himself as a lever researcher and editor of the historical-critical edition of all of Johann Peter Hebel's writings .

Life

Braunbehrens was born as the son of the Freiburg radiologist Hans von Braunbehrens (1901–1983). He attended the Birklehof reform school , where he made friends with his classmate Karl-Heinz Bohrer , who portrayed him in his volume of stories Granatsplitter (2012). He then studied economics in Heidelberg and Freiburg , as well as political science with Dolf Sternberger in Heidelberg. He lives as a private scholar in Heidelberg. Braunbehrens was a founding member of the Institute for Text Criticism Heidelberg.

He is a shareholder in Krauss-Maffei Wegmann . From 1983 to 2009 he was a member of the supervisory board there. The musicologist Volkmar Braunbehrens and the painter Burkhart Braunbehrens are his brothers.
