Adrian Pertl (born April 22, 1996 in Sankt Veit an der Glan , Carinthia ) is an Austrian ski racer . He currently belongs to the B-team of the Austrian Ski Association and specializes in the technical disciplines of slalom and giant slalom .

biography

Adrian Pertl comes from Ebene Reichenau and starts for the WSV Reichenau- Turracher Höhe .

Pertl competed in his first FIS races at the age of 15 . In 2013 he took part in the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival in Poiana Brașov , but could not finish both races. Then he was included in the national team of the ÖSV for the first time. He made his European Cup debut in January 2016 in Radstadt , but was unable to rank among the top ranks for a long time. He achieved his first top 10 result in January 2020 with fifth place in the Vaujany slalom . In February 2017 he took part in the Junior World Championships in Åre , where he won the gold medal in his favorite discipline after finishing seventh in the giant slalom. In the same year he became Austrian youth champion in giant slalom.

On 23 January 2018 Pertl was the night race in Schladming his World Cup debut. He qualified for a second run for the first time on January 26, 2020 in his fifth race, the slalom on the Kitzbüheler Ganslernhang , where he made it to eighth place with start number 73 after 24th place in the first run with the best time in the second. A week later he celebrated his first victory in the European Cup in the Jaun slalom . On February 8, 2020, he finished third in the Chamonix slalom for the first time on a World Cup podium.

Adrian Pertl is a competitive athlete in the armed forces with the rank of private .
