Aelin Peterson (born June 7, 1974 in Unalakleet ) is a former American cross-country skier .

Career

Peterson started internationally for the first time at the Junior World Ski Championships in Harrachov in 1993 and achieved 71st place over 15 km freestyle and 52nd place over 5 km classic. The following year she ran at the Junior World Ski Championships in Breitenwang on 70th place over 5 km classic. In December 1994 she completed her first race in the Continental Cup in Thunder Bay , which she finished classically in 13th place over 10 km. At the 1995 Winter Universiade in Candanchú , he came in 47th place over 15 km freestyle and 36th place over 10 km classic. Her first of a total of three individual World Cup races she ran in January 2001 in Soldier Hollow , which she finished in 36th place in the sprint. Her best placings at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City were 46th in the sprint and 13th in the relay. In the 2002/03 season she took three wins in the Continental Cup and also took second place three times and third place twice. In February 2003, she achieved 33rd place in the sprint in Reit im Winkl, her best place in the individual World Cup. At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships 2003 in Val di Fiemme , she finished 63rd in the skiathlon , 52nd place over 10 km classic and 46th place in the sprint. In the following season, she took Anchorage over 5 km classic, her fourth and final victory in the Continental Cup and also took second place in the mass start race over 5 km freestyle and in West Yellowstone third place over 10 km classic.
