Aexattack ( spelling : aexattack) is an Austrian band whose music influences from various genres, including a. Alternative rock , indie rock , grunge and noise pop shows. The band was founded in 2007 in Völkermarkt , Carinthia. All members now live in Vienna .

history

founding

Aexattack was founded in 2007 by Axel Truschner (vocals, guitar), Christoph Lieber (bass) and Michael Krapesch (drums). A short time later, Helmut Schwab (vocals, guitar) completed the band. In late 2010, the band began pre-production for their debut album Stay Young . Between the recordings of their debut, the band released the single Pinguin as a tribute to the Austrian band Roter Stern Silberstern at the end of 2012 and it entered the Austrian indie charts at number 24. This was followed by a short airplay of the single on the youth radio station FM4 .

Stay friends

In addition to the album, the band has also teamed up with several Austrian artists to publish their own interpretations of Aexattack songs as a bonus. These collaborations include interpretations by A Life, A Song, A Cigarette , The Sado-Maso Guitar Club , Sir Tralala , DeeCracks , Kommando Elefant , LIAN , Bernhard Eder and Hannes Duscher . Most of these artists also played their versions at the release concert on April 18, 2015 in Vienna's WUK .

Stay Young

Aexattack released the single Leave Me Behind in 2013 . At the end of 2014, Starlight followed as a further separation from Stay Young . This made it back into the rotation on FM4 and was represented in the Austrian Indie Charts. Before the double album Stay Young / Stay Friends was released on March 18, 2015 via the SISSI Records label, another single - also called Stay Young - was released. With that, the band made it to number 12 on the FM4 charts . There you could move up to 10th place and hold out for six weeks.

With the album, the band made it to second place in the respective Austrian Indie Charts ranking. The Kleine Zeitung wrote "Aexattack made it from the basement to the big stage" , music austria headlined "Aexattack have been making their own version of pop and grunge for around eight years" and volume.at judged that " their sound has the potential to go way beyond To radiate out Vienna ".

New (invention)

Due to musical differences, Michael Krapesch (drums) left the band at the end of 2014. A short time later, Moritz Rauter took the place behind the drums. In addition, Wolfgang Kanduth (guitar, vocals, synthesizer) also joined Aexattack at the same time to support the quartet live. In this constellation the band played at some festivals, including a. the Danube Island Festival on the Radio FM4 / Planet.tt stage, the Acoustic Lakeside Festival, the Danube Canal Drift and the Gürtel Nightwalk .

Aexattack is currently working on their second album.
