Afonso de Oliveira Lima

Afonso de Oliveira Lima SDS (born August 28, 1916 in Limoeiro do Norte , Brazil , † August 31, 1994 ) was a Roman Catholic religious and bishop of Brejo .

Life

Afonso de Oliveira Lima joined the Congregation of the Salvatorian at and received on 8 December 1940, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on November 29, 1971 as the first bishop of the two months earlier established diocese of Brejo . The Archbishop of Fortaleza , José de Medeiros Delgado , donated him episcopal ordination on April 9 of the following year ; Co-consecrators were the auxiliary bishops Manuel Edmilson da Cruz from São Luís do Maranhão and Miguel Fenelon Câmara Filho from Fortaleza.

On September 25, 1991, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
