Manuel Edmilson da Cruz

Manuel Edmilson da Cruz (born October 3, 1924 in Acaraú ) is a Brazilian Roman Catholic clergyman and former bishop of Limoeiro do Norte .

Life

Manuel Edmilson da Cruz was ordained a priest on December 5, 1948 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on August 8, 1966 auxiliary bishop in São Luís do Maranhão and titular bishop of Vicus Caesaris . The Archbishop of São Luís do Maranhão, João José da Mota e Albuquerque , donated the bishop to him on November 6th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Walfrido Teixeira Vieira , Bishop of Sobral and José Mauro Ramalho de Alarcón Santiago , Bishop of Iguatu .

On July 3, 1974, he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Fortaleza . Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Limoeiro do Norte on May 18, 1994 . On May 6, 1998, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
