The Diocese of Iguatu ( Latin Dioecesis Iguatuvina , Portuguese Diocese de Iguatu ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Iguatu in the state of Ceará .
history
Pope John XXIII founded it on January 28, 1961 with the Apostolic Constitution In apostolicis from cession of territory of the Diocese of Crato and the Archdiocese of Fortaleza , to which it was also subordinated as a Suffragan Diocese .
On September 28, 1963 it gave up part of its territory to the establishment of the diocese of Crateús .
