Edson de Castro Homem (born April 17, 1949 in Rio de Janeiro , Brazil ) is a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Iguatu .

Life

Edson de Castro Homem received October 18, 1977 by the Archbishop of Sao Sebastiao do Rio de Janeiro, Eugênio Cardinal de Araujo Sales , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On 16 February 2005 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Mutia and auxiliary bishop in Sao Sebastiao do Rio de Janeiro . The Archbishop of São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro, Eusébio Cardinal Scheid SCJ , donated him episcopal ordination on March 12 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop Emeritus of São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro, Cardinal Eugênio de Araújo Sales, and the Archbishop of Niterói , Alano Maria Pena OP .

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Iguatu on May 6, 2015 .
