An anime television series from Wit Studio aired on the Noitamina program block from January 12 to March 30, 2018 . A real-life film was released on May 25, 2018.

The manga tells the story of Tachibana Akira, a 17-year-old high school student who was once a member of the athletics club. However, due to an injury, she can no longer do sports. With her newly gained free time, she begins to work part-time in a small family restaurant. There she falls in love with the manager, a forty-five year old divorced man with a young son. Akira struggles to find out why she fell in love with Masami and whether or not to reveal her feelings to him.

The series began on June 27, 2014 (issue 8/2014) with the publication in Shogakukan's monthly magazine Gekkan! Spirits and ran there until November 27, 2015 (issue 1/2016), and then switched to the weekly sister magazine Big Comic Spirits on January 18, 2016 (issue 8/2016) and ended on March 19, 2018 (issue 16/2018 ). The chapters were summarized in 10 anthologies ( Tankōbon ).

By April 2018, the series had sold more than 2 million copies.

A German translation appeared from September 2018 to March 2020 under the title After the Rain at Altraverse with all ten volumes. Vertical licensed the work for the English-speaking area and brought it as an omnibus version, i. H. two volumes in one, out September 25, 2018. A French version was published by Kana , a Spanish by Ediciones Tomodomo , an Italian by Edizioni Star Comics and a Chinese by Ching Win Publishing .

Anime

An anime television series was announced in March 2017. It is animated by Wit Studio , directed by Ayumu Watanabe . Deko Akao wrote the script and the character designs are by Yuka Shibata.

The 12 episodes were released from January 12 to March 30, 2018 after midnight (and thus on the previous TV day ) first on Fuji TV's anime program block noitaminA and the affiliated channels Iwate Menkoi TV and Sakuranbo TV , and half an hour to an hour and a half later Akita TV , Nagano Hōsō , TV Shizuoka , TV Ehime , Niigata Sōgō Hōsō , TV Kumamoto , Fukushima TV , Kansai TV , TV Shin-Hiroshima , TV Nishi-Nippon , Sendai Hōsō , Kagoshima TV , Tōkai TV , as well as the following day on Saga TV .
