Agata Zupin (born March 17, 1998 ) is a Slovenian athlete who specializes in the 400-meter hurdles .

Athletic career

In 2015, Agata Zupin took part for the first time in a major international event, the U18 World Championships in Cali , where she was eliminated in the preliminary round over 200 meters. In 2016 she started over 400 meter hurdles at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz and was eliminated there in the first round. After a successful indoor season, she qualified for participation in the U20 European Championships in Grosseto . In the final run over the 400 meter hurdles she improved the Slovenian record held by Meta Mačus since 2002 by almost a second to 55.96 s and thus won the silver medal behind the Swiss Yasmin Giger . She also qualified for the World Championships in London and reached the semifinals there .

In 2019, Zupin won the bronze medal in the 400-meter run behind the French Karyl Amaro and Kellya Pauline at the U23 Mediterranean Indoor Championships in Miramas in 55.83 seconds . Then she finished fifth at the U23 European Championships in Gävle in 56.97 s.

In 2016, 2019 and 2020 , Zupin was the Slovenian champion in the 400-meter hurdles outdoors and in 2017 the indoor champion in the 60-meter run. In addition, she won over 200 meters in the hall in 2019 and 2020 and in the 400-meter run in 2018 and in the 4-by-400-meter relay in 2020.
