description

Vegetative characteristics

Agave brevipetala grows stemless with individual rosettes . Its green, rather cloudy leaves are broadly lanceolate. Their leaf blades are 100 centimeters long. On the almost straight edge of the leaf there are 5 to 10 millimeter long peripheral teeth that are 10 to 15 millimeters apart. However, they are smaller near the tip of the leaf and towards the base of the leaf. The broad triangular, shiny auburn marginal teeth are curved differently. They arise from a lens-shaped base. The marginal teeth in the middle of the leaf include green, marginal elevations. The rather shiny, chestnut-brown, smooth end spine is almost round. It has a narrow furrow with inwardly curved edges. The terminal mandrel is 20 to 25 millimeters long, 6 millimeters wide, descending over a length of about 10 centimeters and connected to the smaller upper marginal teeth.

Inflorescences and flowers

The "paniculate" inflorescence does not have bulbils . The partial inflorescences are densely flowered at their tips. The flowers are about 35 millimeters long and stand on about 5 millimeter long peduncles . The color of their tepals is unknown. The tips are 10 millimeters long. The thick, elongated ovary is 20 millimeters in length longer than the tepals.

Fruits and seeds

Nothing is known about the fruits and seeds .

Systematics and distribution

Agave brevipetala is common in Hispaniola in Haiti on the Morne Cabaio .
