In the early 1990s, they dealt with the production and energetic use of biogas from liquid manure , manure and renewable raw materials . In 2001 the first biogas plant was put into operation. Five years later , the first biogas plant in Kenya was built for training purposes together with a local partner and GIZ . In order to be able to carry out the fermentation substrate analysis in-house, a biogas laboratory was also set up. In 2007 a special separator technology was developed and in 2008 the biogas plant slurry plant was introduced at the EuroTier trade fair, which in 2016 served as a test plant for a scientific study by the University of Bonn .
