Agus Prayogo (born August 23, 1985 in Bogor ) is an Indonesian long-distance runner .

Athletic career

Agus Prayogo gained his first international experience in 2009 when he won the gold medal in the 10,000 meter run at the Southeast Asian Games in Vientiane , where he won the gold medal in 29: 51.40 minutes . The following year he took part in the Asian Games in Guangzhou for the first time , where he reached tenth place over 10,000 meters in 29: 25.77 mn and was tenth in the 5000-meter run in 14: 04.29 minutes. In 2011 he finished eighth over 5000 meters at the Asian Championships in Kobe in 14: 10.85 min and then reached eleventh place at the World Military Games in Rio de Janeiro with a new national record of 14: 02.12 min. He then won the Southeast Asian Games in Palembang in 14: 10.01 minutes over 5000 meters and in 30: 10.43 minutes over 10,000 meters. Two years later he won the bronze medal over 10,000 meters behind the Vietnamese Nguyễn Văn Lai and Boonthung Srisung from Thailand at the Southeast Asian Games in Naypyidaw in 30: 25.33 minutes . In addition, he reached fifth place over 5000 meters in 14: 51.91 minutes.

In 2015 he won again at the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore in 29: 41.56 minutes over 10,000 meters and secured the silver medal behind the Vietnamese Nguyễn over 5000 meters in 14: 15.14 minutes. He then finished fifth at the Military World Games in Mungyeon, South Korea, in 30: 17.97 minutes over 10,000 meters. 2017 he finished in the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku in 1: 36.20 min eleventh over 5000 meters and then he won in the Southeast Asia Games in Kuala Lumpur in 30: 22.26 minutes in the 10,000 meters and won the marathon in 2:31 : 20 h the silver medal behind the Singaporean Soh Rui Yong . In addition, he won the bronze medal over 5000 meters in 15: 1.80 minutes behind Nguyễn and the Malaysian Prabudass Krishnan . The following year he took part in the marathon again at the Asian Games in Jakarta , but could not finish his race there. In 2019 he reached eleventh place over 10,000 meters at the World Military Games in Wuhan in 29: 52.59 minutes. He then won the Southeast Asian Games in Capas in 2:26:48 h in the marathon, won the silver medal over 10,000 meters in 30: 22.13 minutes behind the Thai Kieran Tuntivate and over 5000 meters in 14: 47.48 minutes fifth place.

In 2009 and 2019 Prayogo was Indonesian champion in the 10,000 meter run and in 2018 and 2019 also over 5000 meters.
