Ahmad Mansour (musician)
Ahmad Mansour (born June 7, 1960 in Tehran ; † July 1, 2011 in Geneva ) was an Iranian - American jazz guitarist and composer .
Live and act
Ahmad Mansour spent part of his childhood in Switzerland and then studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston . After studying with Richie Beirach , John Abercrombie and Mick Goodrick , he worked in New York from 1986; In 1990 he became an American citizen. With his trio of Stomu Takeishi (bass) and Ted Poor (drums) he also performed frequently in Europe. Mansour released a number of albums under his own name, including Free Speech (2007). In 1995 a trio with Terje Gewelt and Ian Froman created the album Tumbleweed . Mansour last lived in Geneva, where he died of a heart attack .
