Aich is a district of the market town of Peiting in the Upper Bavarian district of Weilheim-Schongau .

geography

The hamlet is located around eight kilometers north of Peiting in a young moraine landscape not far from the Lech .

history

Aich belonged to the Wessobrunn monastery .

After the secularization of the hamlet came as part of the community edicts of 1818 to the community Birkland in district court Schongau and together with these on 1 January 1976. Peiting incorporated .

Attractions

The Catholic parish church of St. Anna is located in Aich . The building, originally built around 1500 as a chapel, was expanded several times in the 17th and 18th centuries and redesigned in Baroque style; the altar from 1715 was designed by Dominikus Zimmermann from Wessobrunn.
