Aichryson bollei is a species of the Aichryson genusin the Crassulaceae family.

Vegetative characteristics

Aichryson bollei grows as an annual or biennial , simple or sparsely branched, herbaceous plant and reaches heights of 25 to 35 centimeters. The shoots, which are covered with pressed hair along their entire length , have a diameter of about 4 millimeters. The ascending branches are spreading widely. Their ovoid or plaster-shaped, blunt, densely hairy leaves are 25 to 35 millimeters long and 10 to 22 millimeters wide. They are narrowed into a distinct stalk. The leaf blade is widest near the base .

Generative characteristics

The inflorescence has few flowers . The seven to eight-fold flowers are on a stalk up to 4 millimeters long and have a diameter of 8 to 10 millimeters. Their sepals are hairy. The pale yellow, lanceolate, pointed petals are 4 to 5 millimeters long and have a greenish stripe. They are only slightly longer than the sepals.

Systematics and distribution

Aichryson bollei is common on La Palma at altitudes of up to 1600 meters.

The first description by Carl August Bolle was published in 1859.

Aichryson bollei is probably closely related to Aichryson pachycaulon .
