Aichryson pachycaulon is a species of the genus Aichryson in the thick-leaf family(Crassulaceae).

Vegetative characteristics
Aichryson pachycaulon grows as a two- or three-year-old, glabrous or balding, herbaceous plant and reaches heights of 20 to 35 centimeters. The bare shoots have a diameter of about 10 millimeters. The lower branches are spreading widely and ascending. Their rhombic or trowel-shaped, blunt, bare or almost bare leaves are 25 to 65 millimeters long and 20 to 35 millimeters wide. They narrow into an indistinct stem. The leaf blade is widest in the middle or above the middle . The semi-upright leaves densely cover the shoots.
Generative characteristics
The inflorescence is dense and many-flowered. The eight to nine-fold flowers are on a stalk up to 6 millimeters long and have a diameter of 9 to 11 millimeters. Their sepals are balding. The golden yellow, lanceolate, pointed petals have a pointed tip and are 5 to 6 millimeters long.
Systematics and distribution
Aichryson pachycaulon is common on Fuerteventura , Gran Canaria , Tenerife , La Gomera and La Palma at altitudes of 600 to 1000 meters.
The first description by Carl August Bolle was published in 1859.
Nomenclatural synonyms are Sempervivum pachycaulon (Bolle) Christian (1888) and Aichryson punctatum var. Pachycaulon (Bolle) Praeger (1928). There are also other synonyms.
