The Ajdar or Aidar ( Russian and Ukrainian Айдар ; also Адар, Айдор / Adar, Aidor) is a left tributary of the Siversky Donets in the Russian Oblast of Belgorod and the Ukrainian Oblast of Luhansk .

The Ajdar rises on the southern edge of the Central Russian Plate in Belgorod Oblast. It flows south into Luhansk Oblast. It flows through the small towns of Rowenki , Novopskow , Starobilsk and Novoajdar and after 264 km flows into the Siversky Donets on the left. The catchment area covers 7420 km². The river is used for irrigation .

On a section south of Rowenki, the Ajdar marks the Russian-Ukrainian border for a few kilometers.
