Air Sinai is an Egyptian airline based in Cairo and based at Cairo International Airport . It is a subsidiary of Egypt Air .
history
Egypt Air founded the subsidiary Air Sinai in 1982 to operate flights between Cairo and Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv . Operations started with a Boeing 737-200 . In addition to the liner services to Israel , Air Sinai initially also operated charter flights .
For political reasons, flights to Tel Aviv cannot be booked through Egypt Air and do not appear in their flight schedule and for a long time not on the departure or arrival monitors at Cairo International Airport . The Canadian newspaper The Globe and Mail describes Air Sinai as a “semi-secret” division of Egypt Air that carries out “phantom flights” to Israel.
fleet
As of July 2019, Air Sinai no longer owns any aircraft. In the past, Boeing 737-200 , Boeing 737-500 and Embraer 170 aircraft were used.
