AMC Airlines is an Egyptian charter airline based in Cairo and based at Cairo International Airport .
history
The company was founded in 1988 as a maintenance company under the name A ircraft M aintenance C ompany . In the following year she received an Air Operator Certificate for the implementation of national air taxi services and on October 12, 1992 an operating license for charter flights . At the end of 1992, the company was the first jet aircraft to take over a Boeing 737-200 , which was used in the AMC Aviation brand . In 2004 the company was given its current name AMC Airlines .

Historic fleet
In the past, AMC Airlines operated aircraft of the types Airbus A300-200 and A310-300 as well as Boeing 737-200 , Boeing 737-400 and McDonnell Douglas MD-83 and MD-90 .
Incidents
- An accident occurred on June 23, 2006 when a scheduled passenger aircraft that took off from Khartoum airport landed . The AMC Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-83 ( aircraft registration SU-BOZ ) rolled over the runway at Juba Airport and was badly damaged. No people were harmed. The aircraft was then removed and repaired.
- On October 11, 2007 a McDonnell Douglas DC-9-83 (MD-83) of AMC Airlines (SU-BOY) had to make an emergency landing at Istanbul-Ataturk Airport . The machine was on its way from Hurghada to Warsaw . She made a controlled belly landing and came off the runway . A passenger was injured in the incident. The aircraft was damaged beyond repair.
- On December 25, 2011, another incident occurred during a flight of the MD-83 with the registration number SU-BOZ . It had to make an emergency landing at Karachi Airport with the nose wheel retracted . The aircraft was on a flight from Tabuk to Quetta with 74 passengers . As in the first incident involving the machine, no one was injured. The MD-83 was then put into storage.
