The Fly Egypt (proper spelling FlyEgypt ) is an Egyptian charter airline based in Cairo .

history

Fly Egypt was founded in 2014 and began flight operations on February 12, 2015 under the Egyptian AOC number 073. The aim is to be the first low-cost airline in Egypt to enter the market. The former German CEO Ralf Nagel was previously head trainer and at times flight operations manager at Air Berlin . An IOSA audit was completed in February 2016, paving the way for the airline to become an IATA member.

The Luftfahrt-Bundesamt withdrew the company's landing permit for German airports on December 5, 2018. From December 23, 2018, Fly Egypt was allowed to land in Germany again and so the company announced at the end of February 2019 that it would take over three Boeing 737 MAX 8s in the course of the same year and in early 2020 and also enter the inner-Egyptian market from April 2019.
