Borja Mayoral Moya (born April 5, 1997 in Parla ) is a Spanish football player . His preferred position is the storm . He is currently on loan from Real Madrid to Levante UD .

Career

Borja Mayoral began his junior career at the age of seven with AD Parla . In the summer of 2007, the then ten-year-old Mayoral moved to the youth team at Real Madrid , where he began in the Alevín B (U-11) team. From then on he went through various age groups until he got into the A-youth in the 2014/15 season. In the UEFA Youth League , he played seven games that season and scored as many goals. He made his debut in the second team Real Madrid Castilla on January 18, 2015 in Segunda División B against Getafe B. For a league game against UD Almería on April 29, 2015, coach Carlo Ancelotti nominated him for the first time for the squad of the professional team, ultimately however, it was not used.

Borja Mayoral made his debut in the A-squad on October 31, 2015 in a league game against UD Las Palmas when he came on for Toni Kroos in the 87th minute .

In July 2016 it was awarded to the German Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg . For the Wolves he made his Bundesliga debut on matchday 7 in the 0-1 home defeat against RB Leipzig . He scored his first goal in the Bundesliga when he lost 3-2 to Hertha BSC on matchday 13.

For the season 2017/18 returned Mayoral back to Madrid. He was used in 14 league games in which he scored three goals. In May 2018 he won the Champions League for the second time , to which he contributed one goal in four appearances.

On August 31, 2018, Mayoral switched to the UD Levante on loan until the end of the 2018/19 season . This loan was renewed on July 29, 2019 for the 2019/20 season.

National team

Borja Mayoral made his debut in the Spanish U-17 national team in two friendly matches against Germany in November 2013 . With the Spanish U19 he won the 2015 European Championship with a 2-0 final against Russia . Mayoral scored three goals over the course of the tournament, including 1-0 in the final, and became the top scorer. In the course of qualifying for the U-21 European Championship 2017 , the only 18-year-old Borja Mayoral made his debut against Sweden in the Spanish U21 on October 7, 2015 .
