José Ángel Gómez Campaña (born May 31, 1993 in Seville ) is a Spanish football player who is under contract with UD Levante .
Career
society
José Campaña's father Ricardo Gómez Carreras had played for Betis Sevilla in the 1980s . He himself began playing football in his hometown for Sevilla FC . From the age of seven he belonged to the club and went through the youth teams until he was used for the first time in the third division team of the club at 16 . Here the midfielder proved himself in 56 league games and was brought into the first team after two years. He made his professional debut in the Europa League game on August 25, 2011 against the German first division club Hannover 96 and three days later in the Primera División , Spain's top division, as a substitute.
In his first season Campaña played 15 league games, mostly characterized by short appearances, but was also in the starting line-up three times, the first time in a 0-0 draw against FC Barcelona . In the following season he initially struggled with groin problems and only made five appearances in the first half of the season. During the second half of the season he broke his metatarsus and was out for the rest of the season.
For the 2013/14 season, the English Premier League promoted Crystal Palace from London showed interest in the Andalusian, who did not want to renew at Seville, and signed him for two million euros until 2017. José Campaña was also a Spanish junior national player from the U-16s . In the U-17 national team he was used twelve times and with the U-19 national team he took part in the European Championship in 2011 and 2012 . Both finals in which he participated were won; most recently with him as team captain . With the U-20 national team , he played the following year at the World Cup , where the team was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Uruguay .
