history

Air Uganda was founded in 2007 by the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development .

In June 2014 the company (like the other airlines Uganda Air Cargo and TransAfrik Ltd licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority of Uganda ) was revoked until further notice due to a negative audit by the Civil Aviation Authority of Uganda by the International Civil Aviation Organization . A few weeks later it therefore returned some of its aircraft to the lessor. According to the CAA, the license was withdrawn due to security deficiencies at the airline itself.

Air Uganda recently offered flights to Kenya ( Nairobi ), South Sudan ( Juba ) and Tanzania ( Dar es Salaam , Zanzibar ) from its home airport Entebbe .
