ArianeGroup (until 2017 Airbus saffron launcher) is a joint venture of the European aerospace company Airbus Group and the French group Safran with its three core businesses: Aerospace and Aerospace (propulsion systems and equipment), Defense and Security, which with the objective of developing and later manufacture of the rocket Ariane 6 was founded on January 1, 2015. The company is based in Issy-les-Moulineaux near Paris .

Arianespace

On June 16, 2015, ArianeGroup announced that it had acquired a total of 74 percent of Arianespace by transferring a 35 percent share from the French space agency CNES .

The company started with around 450 employees and an annual turnover of around 1 billion euros.

Ariane 6

On August 12, 2015, the European space agency ESA commissioned ArianeGroup as the main contractual partner to develop the new Ariane 6 .

The contract covers a volume of 2.4 billion euros for the development of the two versions of the Ariane 6 launcher - Ariane 62 and Ariane 64. The contract includes a binding commitment of around 680 million euros to carry out the first development work (phases A and B) until the preliminary design review planned for mid-2016. Overall, the development costs will amount to around 3 billion euros, including the boosters that Ariane and Vega will share, and an industrial investment of 400 million euros.
