Akaki Chubutia ( Georgian აკაკი ხუბუტია ; born March 17, 1986 in Sukhumi , Abkhaz ASSR , Georgian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Georgian football player .
Club career
Chubutia started his professional career in Belarus at Zvezda-BGU Minsk . In 2004 he played in Lithuania for FBK Kaunas , FK Šilutė and FC Vilnius . In 2009 the Georgian moved to Romania to Gaz Metan Mediaş . With the team, Chubutia managed to qualify for the UEFA Europa League at the end of the 2010/11 season .
The club loaned him out in the summer of 2011. He moved to Samsunspor in Turkey for one season . Samsunspor had a purchase option for the defender. After the club was relegated to the TFF 1st Lig , the purchase option was not drawn. In early 2013, Chubutia joined the Russian first division club Mordowija Saransk . After relegation in 2013 , he stayed in Saransk and managed to get promoted again with the club at the end of the 2013/14 season . He then moved to Hapoel Petach Tikwa in Israel. There he could not assert himself and was not used. In early 2015 he was hired by AO Kerkyra in the Greek Super League . Here he only got four missions. In summer 2015 he moved to MFK Zemplín Michalovce in Slovakia. With the promoted team, he managed to stay in class in the 2015/16 season , where he was used in half of the games. In the summer of 2016 he returned to his home country, where he was signed by Dinamo Tbilisi . In early 2017 he moved to Gaz Metan Mediaș for the second time. In early 2018 he joined league competitor ACS Poli Timișoara .
