The Akarçay (in the upper reaches: Bacak Deresi or Nacak Çayı ) is a river in the west of central Anatolia .
The Akarçay rises on the northern slope of the Ahır Dağı mountain range in the west of the Turkish province of Afyonkarahisar . It flows mainly in an easterly direction. The Akdeğirm dam on the upper reaches of the river is dammed. The Akarçay later passes the north of the provincial capital Afyonkarahisar , flows past the small town of Çobanlar and finally flows south of Bolvadin into the drainless lake Eber Gölü . Much of the river water is diverted for irrigation purposes. The river is canalised in the lower reaches. The Akarçay has a length of about 100 km.
In the catchment area of the Akarçay, the Seyitler Dam lies on a tributary .
