The SV Braunsbedra is a German sports club from Braunsbedra in the Saalekreis . In addition to soccer, other sports are offered, e.g. B. Athletics, wrestling and volleyball. The home of the football department of the club is the “Stadium of Peace”, the SVB is a successor to the BSG activist Geiseltal-Mitte.
Activist Geiseltal Müuellen / Activist Geiseltal-Mitte
SV Braunsbedra was created in 1950 from a merger of SG Neumark and SG Müächen under the name of the company sports community (BSG) activist Geiseltal Müächen. The local open-cast mine in the Central German lignite mining area acted as the carrier company . From 1960, when activist Neumark split off, the company was renamed Aktivist Geiseltal-Mitte.
In football, the Reviermannschaft acted from 1953 in the third-class Halle district league , which was held with secured midfield positions. In 1957, behind Chemie Bitterfeld and ahead of Stahl Helbra, a second rank was enough for promotion to the 2nd GDR League , which had previously been increased from two to five seasons. The second GDR league held activist Geiseltal-Mitte until it was dissolved in the 1962/63 season, although there was no realistic chance of advancing to the GDR league . In 1964, Geiseltal-Mitte was again downgraded to the Halle district league area, which was held with brief interruptions until 1985. With the turnaround, activist Geiseltal-Mitte merged with Chemie Lützkendorf to form SV Braunsbedra.
SV Braunsbedra
On August 16, 1990 the previous company sports association was converted into a registered club and took the name Sports Club Braunsbedra. The first football team was promoted to the Association League Saxony-Anhalt for the first time in 1995 . In the top division of Saxony-Anhalt, the SVB immediately played in higher table regions, in 2001 the club won the championship with a narrow margin over FC Grün-Weiß Wolfen and SV Dessau 05 . The associated rise to the Oberliga Nordost turned out to be too big for the SVB. With only eleven points in the season, Braunsbedra got down together with VfB Zittau and BSG Stahl Riesa by return of post. After another relegation from the Association League Saxony-Anhalt and the Landesliga Süd, the club will play state class from 2019.
