al-Khatim al-Khalifa

Sirr al-Chatim al-Chalifa al-Hasan ( Arabic سر الختم الخليفة الحسن, DMG Sirr al-Ḫatim al-Ḫalīfa al-Ḥasan ; * 1919 in ad-Duwaim ; † February 18, 2006 ) was Sudanese Prime Minister from October 30, 1964 to July 8, 1965 .

Life

In 1937 he studied at the Gordon Memorial College , then he traveled to Britain , where he 1944-1946 educated at Exeter College of the University of Oxford continued.

He first worked in the training sector as a teacher at the Bakht Errida Training Institute (1938-1944), then he was appointed training inspector in Juba and was responsible for the introduction of the Arabic language in the education system and school system in South Sudan (1950-1957). He was later appointed Assistant Director of Education for the Southern Regions of Sudan. In 1964 he was appointed Deputy Undersecretary in the Ministry of Education. He became Prime Minister (October 1964 to July 1965) and was elected by the Professionals Front to form a transitional government charged with organizing elections.

After the elections and the acceptance of power by political parties , he was appointed Sudan's ambassador to Italy . He remained in this post until 1969 when he was dismissed by the an-Numeiri government. An-Numeiri appointed him Minister of Education in 1973. He was later dismissed from the post of Minister of Education and appointed as an advisor to the President of the Republic for Educational Affairs. He held this post until 1985, when the an-Numeiri government was overthrown by General Abd ar-Rahman Swar ad-Dahab .
