al-Nasr (also al-Nassr ; Arabic النصر, DMG an-Naṣr ) is a Saudi Arabian football club from the capital Riyadh . The club plays in the Saudi Professional League , the highest league in the country. The footballers play their home games in the König-Fahd-Stadion .

history

The club was founded in 1955 by the two brothers Husein and Zeid al-Ja'ba and operated as a non-official amateur club until 1960. Today the club is one of the largest and most respected in the country. The last championship dates from 1995. Winning the Asian Cup Winners Cup in 1998 was the greatest international success. The 2008/09 season just ended, the club finished fifth and only just missed qualifying for the 2010 AFC Champions League .
