Al-Khor Sports Club ( Arabic نادي الخور الرياضي) is a sports club from al-Chaur in Qatar . The men's soccer team plays in the country's highest league, the Qatar Stars League . The team plays their home games at al-Khawr Stadium . The club was founded in 1961 as Al-Taawun , the club has had its current name since 2002. The club's greatest successes to date have been the victories in the Sheikh Jassim Cup in 2003 and the Qatar Crown Prince Cup in 2005. In 1980 the club, then called al -Taawun , the Emir of Qatar Cup final for the first time and lost 2-1 to al-Arabi . In the 2006/07 season they made it back to the finals and lost on penalties to al-Sadd .
