Al Ahram International
The Al Ahram International was a squash tournament for men and women. It took place in Giza , Egypt and was part of the PSA World Tour and the WSA World Tour .
The men's tournament was first held in 1996 as part of the PSA Super Series . The prize pool was $ 100,000, making it one of the highest of the season. A year later, the first women's competition was played. For the women, the tournament belonged to the WSA Silver or WSA Gold category until 2000 with prize money of up to 41,000 US dollars. The annual competition mode ended for women in 2000 and for men in 2001. In 2016, the tournament took place for the last time so far, with a men’s and a women’s competition. Record winner in the men’s race is Peter Nicol with four victories, and in the women’s category, Michelle Martin was the only one to win two titles.
