Alvin Austin Attles Jr. (born November 7, 1936 in Newark , New Jersey ) is a retired American basketball player and coach. Between 1960 and 1971 the Point Guard played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Philadelphia Warriors / San Francisco Warriors team .
He was one of the earliest African-American NBA coaches. In the 1970s Attles coached the Warriors and led the team to Rick Barry as an outsider to the NBA championship in 1975. He was appointed as conveyor (2019 Contributor ) into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame added.
