Alain Paul Charles Lebeaupin (born March 2, 1945 in Paris , France ) is a Roman Catholic Archbishop and Vatican diplomat .

Life

Alain Lebeaupin received on 28 June 1975 by the bishop of Nice, Jean Mouisset , the sacrament of holy orders and was in the clergy of the diocese of Nice incardinated . In 1979 he entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See.

On 7 December 1998 named him John Paul II. To Titular Archbishop of Vico Equense and apostolic nuncio in Ecuador . He donated his episcopal ordination on January 6, 1999 in St. Peter's Basilica ; Co-consecrators were the Archbishops of the Curia Giovanni Battista Re and Francesco Monterisi . On January 14, 2005, Alain Lebeaupin became Apostolic Nuncio to Kenya and Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations Office in Nairobi . Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on June 23, 2012 as Apostolic Nuncio to the European Union .
