United Nations Office in Nairobi

The United Nations Office in Nairobi ( English United Nations Office at Nairobi , UNON ) denotes the branch United Nations in the Kenyan capital Nairobi. The office complex is located in the Gigiri district and includes the offices of 24 United Nations organizations and programs.

The office is not a regular meeting place for major organs of the United Nations. In November 2004, however, at the urging of then US Ambassador John Danforth, the United Nations Security Council held a meeting in Nairobi on the situation in Sudan.
