Alan Dick

Alan Dick (born April 15, 1930 in Sunderland , Tyne and Wear , † February 2002 ) was a British sprinter who specialized in the 400-meter run .

At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 he reached the quarter-finals in the individual competition and came in fifth place in the 4 x 400 meter relay with the British team.

In 1954 he was sixth at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver over 440 yards and won with the English team in the 4-times-440-yard relay. At the European Athletics Championships in Bern , he was eliminated over 400 m in the semi-finals.

He set his personal best of 48.0 s in 1952.
