Alan Ogley (born February 4, 1946 in Darton ) is a former English football goalkeeper . He was between 1967 and 1975 regular goalkeeper of the lower-class professional club Stockport County and then until 1977 at Darlington FC . He had previously been part of the Manchester City squad , but rarely got beyond the role of substitute. At the beginning of the 1967/68 season, which ended for the "Citizens" by winning the English championship , he had stood between the posts twice in league games.

Athletic career

Ogley began his footballer career at the third division club Barnsley FC . There he played nine championship matches in the 1962/63 season before moving to Manchester City , which was then active in the second-highest English division. During his time in Manchester, the club succeeded in the first division promotion in 1966 , but Ogley was mostly only second choice behind Harry Dowd and only four times in the 1965/66 season in league games came to the train. In the first division season 1966/67 he then completed 17 games and at the beginning of the subsequent championship season 1967/68 for the injured Dowd also the first two encounters, but his appearance at 2: 3 away against Southampton FC was also the last.
