The Alb-Pfinz-Plateau is a hilly landscape in Baden-Württemberg in the transition area between Kraichgau and the northern Black Forest .

It is bounded in the north by the Karlsruhe  - Pforzheim line in the course of the Pfinz and Kämpfelbach valley , in the west by the Alb valley and the rift valley of the Upper Rhine Valley and in the east by the Enz valley . In the south it merges into the northern Black Forest. The Alb-Pfinz-Plateau rises from north to south and reaches its highest point at Schwanner Warte (475 meters above sea level ).

The area is dominated by agriculture and partly forested . Due to the hilly character and the rising terrain, there are many viewpoints in the Kraichgau. It is mainly drained by the Pfinz , which has its source on the Alb-Pfinz plateau.

Today the municipalities of Waldbronn , Karlsbad , Straubenhardt and Keltern are located on the Alb-Pfinz plateau, and Neuenbürg , Birkenfeld , Remchingen , Pfinztal and Karlsruhe have shares in this area. Due to the suburbanization processes since the second half of the 20th century, the Alb-Pfinz-Plateau has become a popular place to live in the catchment area of the large cities of Karlsruhe and Pforzheim. As a result, the villages have grown and have lost their originally purely rural character.

The area is opened up to traffic via country roads with connections to the national transport networks in Karlsruhe and Pforzheim. In the north, the A8 motorway crosses the Alb-Pfinz plateau. The western part of the area is reinforced by the for Albtalbahn owned railway line Karlsruhe  - Langensteinbach  - Ittersbach developed. Until 1968 , a small train continued from Ittersbach via Ellmendingen to Pforzheim .
