Albert Affolter

Albert Affolter (born August 11, 1856 in Solothurn ; † March 21, 1932 in Lausanne , resident in Gerlafingen ) was a Swiss lawyer , politician ( FDP ) and federal judge .

Affolter studied law in Leipzig , Heidelberg , Basel and Zurich . From 1881 to 1884 he was chief judge in Solothurn.

As freisinni ger Cantonal was Affolter 1881 to 1884 and worked from 1892 to 1905.

From 1884 to 1892 he was Councilor . Affolter alternately headed the justice, home affairs, police and education departments.

Affolter then worked as a lawyer in Solothurn from 1892 to 1904 and was elected federal judge in 1904. He worked as such until 1930.

Affolter drafted drafts for the Criminal Procedure Code of 1885, as well as for the revision of the Solothurn Civil Code (ZGB) and the Civil Procedure Code of 1891.

Affolter wrote numerous legal publications. He found his final resting place in the St. Katharinen cemetery in Solothurn.
