Albert Akst
Albert Akst (born August 31, 1899 in Atlantic City , New Jersey , † April 19, 1958 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American musician and film editor .
Life
Akst worked as a saxophonist and worked as a variety musician until 1930. He then turned to the field of film editing and was involved in 58 productions as an editor from 1932 to 1958. He worked with the director Vincente Minnelli on several films .
In 1957 he was for the film Somebody Up There Likes Me ( Somebody Up There Likes Me ) in the category Best Editing for the Oscar nominated.
Akst is buried in Hollywood Forever Cemetery .
