Heavenly Music is an American short film from the year 1943 , that of MGM on a story by Reginald Le Borg was produced.

The composer, band leader and singer Ted Barry stands in front of the Gate of Heaven. Before he can enter the Heavenly Hall of Music, however, his work is examined by a committee that then decides whether he can enter. The committee includes the classical composers Ludwig van Beethoven , Richard Wagner , Johannes Brahms , Pjotr Tschaikowski , Franz Liszt , Frédéric Chopin , Niccolò Paganini , Nikolai Rimski-Korsakow , Johann Strauss sr. and Johann Strauss jr.
The main criterion is that Barry's music be timeless like the classical works of the composers. They do not believe that current popular music reaches this standard. Barry gets 10 minutes for a composition. With the help of the angel Joy, a big fan of his, Barry composes the song Heavenly Music .
