Albert André

Albert André (born January 19, 1930 in Schwalbach-Hülzweiler ; † April 16, 2014 in Piesbach ) was a Roman Catholic priest , President of the III. Order of the Most Holy Trinity, regional dean and holder of the papal honorary titleChaplain of His Holiness ”.

Life

André studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the episcopal seminary in Trier and Innsbruck until 1956 . After completing his studies, he was ordained a priest by the then Bishop of Trier , Matthias Wehr . In the first years after that, André performed his service as a chaplain in Mayen and Trier before he was appointed pastor of a parish in Sulzbach / Saar .

At the request of the then Bishop Bernhard Stein , André was appointed dean of Trier in 1971 . In 1980, André was introduced to the office of regional dean of the Saar-Hochwald region, based in Dillingen / Saar , by Bishop Bernhard Stein in Trier Cathedral . From this point on, André also took over the management of the Caritas Association in Trier. A few months later he became President of III. Called the Order of the Most Holy Trinity. He retired from the associated obligations in 1999. Pope Benedict XVI awarded him the title of Chaplain to His Holiness in 2006 . He lived in Piesbach in the Saarland , whose parish St. John the Baptist he looked after for several decades during and after his work as regional dean. Albert André died on April 16, 2014 at the age of 84 in Piesbach. On the second anniversary of his death on April 16, 2016, the Saarländischer Rundfunk broadcast an obituary.
