Albert Henze (General)
Albert Henze (born August 7, 1894 in Kirchhain , † March 31, 1979 in Ingolstadt ) was a German officer , most recently lieutenant general in World War II .
Life
Henze served as an officer in the First World War . After the war he was demobilized.
From February 19, 1944 to April 3, 1944 he commanded the Panzergrenadier division “Feldherrnhalle” in Narva . This was followed by his assignment as a commander and in the rank of colonel from June 1944 until the dissolution in August 1944 of the 19th Luftwaffen-Sturm-Division , based in Italy, and then until March 16, 1945 in command of the 21st Air Force Field Division . On November 9, 1944, he was promoted to major general.
In the last months of the war he commanded the 30th Infantry Division until the surrender in the Courland pocket . In this function he was promoted to lieutenant general on May 1, 1945.
