Albert Koehler

Albert Köhler (born October 29, 1850 in Zellerfeld , † December 5, 1936 in Berlin ) was a German medical officer and university professor.

Life

As the son of the Harz mountain factor Wilhelm Köhler, Köhler studied medicine at the Pépinière from 1869 . In 1870 he became a member and later an honorary member of the Pépinière-Corps Suevo-Borussia. In 1873 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD . At the University of Königsberg promotion followed in 1885 to Dr. phil. While working at the Pépinière, he was posted to the Charité Surgical Clinic from May 1884 to September 1893 . Since 1892 associate professor , on December 1, 1895, he became the medical director of the Charité. He devoted himself to war surgery, general surgery and trauma surgery . On October 25, 1904, he became full professor of the Kaiser Wilhelm Academy for military medical education, as the Pépinière was called since 1895. As a medical officer, he published four papers in one year in 1889. At the beginning of the 1890s he wrote the publications in the field of military medical services and the manual on the history of military medical systems and war surgery . For years he was responsible for the surgical part of the Charité annals. He later turned to historical subjects, such as the history of gunpowder and artillery . He was a corps bow bearer of the KWA-Corps Franconia and a member of the Berlin Johannisloge Zur Eintracht .
