Albert Kaifer

Albert Kaifer (born March 25, 1893 in Hafenhofen , Günzburg district ; † January 23, 1962 in Neusäß , Augsburg district ) was a German railroad worker and politician ( BVP , CSU ).

The catholic baptized Kaifer learned the profession of baker in 1907 and worked as a journeyman in Augsburg, Munich and Cologne . After his military service he was employed by the Deutsche Reichsbahn in Augsburg. Due to various advanced training courses , especially in trade union issues, Kaifer worked from 1924 as secretary of the Bavarian Railway Union in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate and from 1931 in Regensburg . In this role, he was also the main works council at the Ministry of Transport . After a short period of unemployment, Kaifer was managing director of the Missions-Verkehrs-Arbeitsgemeinschaft (MIVA) from 1935 .

Political career

Albert Kaifer became a member of the Christian Union as early as 1911, and from 1924 also of the Bavarian People's Party (BVP). After the Second World War , Kaifer was a founding member of the Christian Social Union in Bavaria (CSU) and first chairman for the Augsburg district in 1945 . From 1945 to 1948 Albert Kaifer was mayor of the Neusäß community, from 1946 to 1948 a member of the Augsburg district council and from 1946 a member of the state constitutional assembly and the 1st Bavarian state parliament .

From 1948 to 1962 Kaifer was district administrator for the Augsburg district.
