Albert Karl Ernst Bormann

Albert Karl Ernst Bormann (born December 8, 1819 in Osterwieck ; † May 12, 1882 in Magdeburg ) was a German classical philologist, educator and rector in Stralsund and Magdeburg.

Life

Bormann attended high school in Prenzlau from 1833 to 1839 and then studied classical philology at the University of Halle . In 1843 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD.

He received his first position as a teacher in 1844 at the Roßleben monastery school . In 1853 he became sub-rector in Prenzlau, in 1856 senior teacher and professor at the Brandenburg Knight Academy and in 1859 director of the Anklam grammar school . In 1866 he was given the management of the Stralsund grammar school . In 1873 he went to the education department at the monastery of Our Dear Women in Magdeburg as provost and director .

He was involved in the history and archeology association of the Duchy and Archbishopric of Magdeburg, which made him an honorary member in 1874. He made sure that the library and the coin and antiquity collections of the association were set up in the rooms of the pedagogy.
